Wai Yuen Tong understands that strict quality controls must be adhered to pharmaceutical manufacturing to ensure product safety and effectiveness. For this reason, Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) certificated production plant for manufacturing proprietary Chinese medicine. The four-storeyed, 4,100 square meters pharmaceutical manufacturing facility, housed in Wai Yuen Tong Medicine Building in Kowloon Bay, features a herb pre-processing plant, with manufacturing and packaging operations, QC laboratories and warehouses. All production, testing and distribution processes strictly adhere to the Standard Operation Procedures (S.O.P.) laid down by the plant.

The operation of Wai Yuen Tong’s pharmaceutical manufacturing facility complies with the standards stipulated by the Good manufacturing practice in respect of proprietary Chinese medicines issued by the Chinese Medicine Council of Hong Kong and the PIC/S Guide to Good Manufacturing Practice for Medicinal Products issued by the Therapeutic Goods Administration, Australia.

Wai Yuen Tong’s Research and Development Department has a team of professionals who focused on researching and developing Chinese medicinal and health products for the Greater China Region. At the same time, they are also expanding the range of products available in the market.

At the moment, the R&D Department has over 20 full-time employees in Hong Kong, Shenzhen and Changsha. They carry out various researches on product improvements and development projects in response to the ever increasing needs of the market.
